What the Library is already doing to helpThis is a featured page

The John Vaughan Library is already making strides to help save the environment.

Here we already have a recycling program for employees- but we're looking forward to expanding this to the general public. We recycle ink cartridges and used CDs.

What is your place of employment already doing to save the environment?

We also recycle thousands of pounds of paper a year including old and tattered books.

We are looking into a new program to help our older books find a better home. We are talking with Better World Books about their program. http://www.betterworldbooks.com/

This is their environmental impact statement:
Environmental Impact

* Saved over 6,454 tons of books from landfills
* Reclaimed more than 680,000 pounds of metal shelving from libraries across the United States
* 2,376 tons of carbon offset on Betterworld.com sales
