Electronic Lending
Mar 5 2008, 8:19 PM EST
We have a couple of options for sending articles electronically--email and Odyssey. Email should be fairly easy to implement; Odyssey will require tech support to get us up and running. It's definitely time to look at moving forward with this! : )Do you find this valuable?

I think we can learn! And anyway, having more than one option never hurt anyone! Looking forward to working on it with you!

I agree! Not only is it more environmentally friendly, it saves us time as well!

Perhaps at our inter-campus ILL/DD meeting we can set goal dates for implementing electronic lending--one for email, and a second for Odyssey, which will take a little more time. I'm currently reviewing the ILLiad documentation on Odyssey delivery--it's chapter 10 @ http://www.atlas-sys.com/documentation/illiad/content/OCLCILLiadLendingGuide.pdf if you want to take a look. I'll post the link to the ILL/DD blog as well.

"I agree! Not only is it more environmentally friendly, it saves us time as well!"It will save time! I think that moving to electronic delivery might also help our image (not that it's bad, but it's always good to appear technically progressive). Do you find this valuable? |

"Perhaps at our inter-campus ILL/DD meeting we can set goal dates for implementing electronic lending"Definitely! I think that the only way we can logically implement this is to set goals and dates. We also need to think about procedures- we all need to be involved in this. Do you find this valuable? |
